International Beading Week 2025

🌟 Becoming a Guest Ambassador for International Beading Week 2025: Sharing Beading, Healing, and Community

Honoured to Be a Guest Ambassador for IBW 2025

I’m incredibly proud to share that I’ve been invited to be a Guest Ambassador for International Beading Week 2025.

International Beading Week (IBW) is a global celebration of creativity, connection, and community through the art of beading. To be part of this amazing initiative is a true honour — especially because beading has played such a powerful role in my personal journey.

What started as a creative outlet quickly became something deeper. For me, beading has been a tool for mindfulness, healing, and hope — and now, through my work, I’m passionate about sharing that with others.

Sharing the Joy of Bead Weaving

My love of bead weaving began with a simple project — learning to make a 3D beaded peyote star. Something about the rhythm of stitching and the transformation of tiny beads into something beautiful pulled me in, and I’ve never looked back.

That first project became the foundation of a journey that led me to create The Beading Circle and now the Star Hendy Project, a heartfelt initiative that brings the beading community together to create meaningful handmade stars.

What Is the Star Hendy Project?

The Star Hendy Project invites beaders of all levels to come together and create 3D beaded stars that can be gifted as comforting keepsakes to families who have experienced baby loss. Each star is handmade with love, symbolising care, remembrance, and connection.

This project is deeply personal and forms the heart of my work during International Beading Week 2025. It’s about more than craft — it’s about beading for healing and giving back through creativity.

Beading for Beginners: Join My Live 3D Beaded Star Tutorial

As part of IBW, I’ll be running a live bead-along for beginners where I’ll teach how to create a beautiful 3D beaded star using basic materials like Hama beads or pony beads, a regular sewing needle, and thread.

This beginner bead weaving class is designed for absolute beginners — no experience needed at all. Whether you're brand new to beading or just want to try something different, you’re welcome.

📍 Live Bead-Along Dates:
Part 1: 1st August 2025
Part 2: 3rd August 2025

It’s a great chance to learn, relax, and make something beautiful with others in the beading community.

Speaking at IBW: Zoom with the Beadworkers Guild

I’ll also be joining one of the free Zoom sessions hosted by the Beadworkers Guild during International Beading Week. On 31st July at 5pm, I’ll be introducing the Star Hendy Project and sharing a short demo of the 3D peyote star.

It’s a wonderful way to hear more about the project, connect with fellow beaders, and get inspired to try something new.

Beading Is for Everyone

If you’ve ever thought beading looks too complicated — this is your sign to give it a try. Beading is for everyone. Whether you’re crafting alone at your kitchen table or joining a global Zoom event, the beauty of beadwork is that it brings us together, one stitch at a time.

Final Thoughts

Becoming an ambassador for IBW 2025 is more than a personal milestone — it’s an opportunity to share beading, encourage creativity, and connect with others through meaningful projects like the Star Hendy Project.

If you’re curious about beading or looking for a creative outlet that calms the mind and lifts the heart, I’d love for you to join me this summer.

Stay tuned for updates on The Beading Circle, bead-along registration, and more ways to get involved.
